THE STUDENTS OF NANTERRE OCCUPY THEIR UNIVERSITY
In the Parisian suburb of Nanterre, as in many of the university cities throughout the world, the students are in turmoil. The reasons for their agitation are variable, it’s rather a matter of tension related to a certain anxiety over the future. In our photo the extremist students of Nanterre have occupied the great amphitheatre of the Faculty and are demonstrating loudly, singing revolutionary songs.

Hi, my name is Mirko. I write for an independent architecture magazine based in Berlin. In our next issue we are publishing an interview to architecture critic Lukasz Stanek about Henri Lefebvre and the university campus of Paris Nanterre in May 68. We would like to use this image for the interview. I was wondering, where is the postcard from exactly? Is it owned by any specific archive? Or did you simply find it in print and collected it? Do you know anything about who is Maury/Dalmas, the photographer? Any lead would be very useful. Thank you.

Hi Mirko. Thanks for getting in touch. This is a scan of a press photo that I have in my collection. I don’t have any leads other than a stamp (obscured on the scan) identifying the photo agency it is from. If you can email me at frenchunderground1968@gmail.com I will send you a photo of the full stamp.
